We have listed a very small selection of Doo Wop songs that represent the best of the genre. These songs were popular in New Orleans. The peak of the Doo Wop genre occurs between 1956 and 1958. By 1963 the Doo Wop genre was dead, replaced by Soul and Vietnam-era protest, and folk-rock songs.
